Giant Mushrooms In The Sky

So I work
day after day
building a future that will never be mine
I just wanted to live.

They built a seed of metal and steel
everyone feared it.
One day they planted the seed.
From it sprouted a giant mushroom which spread it's spores across the land.

I was building a machine of my own
it was meant to fly.
From above I saw my world die.
Giant mushrooms grew all around me
and for once I knew peace.

Since then I have flown
searching for a place
untouched by the spores.
Till then I will be...
